Michelle RannFounder / Senior Teacher / Mum of two
|
A dancer since the age of 4, Michelle has an extensive background in movement. In 2008 she was accepted to study Dance at the WA Academy of Performing Arts and went on to complete her Dance Teacher training where she first started teaching in 2011. Her passion for movement naturally progressed to Pilates where she fell in love with the practice and received comprehensive training through the full Pilates syllabus. Michelle is also a certified Barre teacher and has taken additional studies in prenatal and postnatal training.
In 2015 Michelle found herself working with a range of clients at Melbourne's premier mind and body health clubs. It was here her passion for helping pregnant and postpartum mums bloomed and lead her to opening a small 1:1 Pilates Studio in South Melbourne. Michelle has since welcomed two kids of her own and relocated home to Perth. She genuinely loves helping people improve their strength and mobility to feel more confident in their body. As a mum, Michelle knows just how important self-care and reconnecting with yourself is for emotional wellbeing. Michelle is very excited to share the positive effects of Pilates with the Hill's community. - It's not how movement make you look, it's how it makes you feel - "I hope to help my clients find a sustainable and balanced lifestyle that nourishes them physically and more importantly emotionally, so that their positive mental and physical benefits can be maintained long term." |
Carly Pink-O'SullivanSenior Teacher
|
Carly has been teaching Pilates since 2020 and holds a Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction. She has since fallen in love with Classical/Archival Pilates and is currently making her way through her Classical Pilates training.
"For me, Pilates has been the most sustainable form of exercise because everything can be modified to suit how my body feels on any given day. It isn't a phase, it becomes part of your lifestyle, and you keep practicing to live a life where you can move better and feel better. As someone once told me 'Pilates is the glue that holds me together' and they couldn't be more right. I call Stoneville home, with my partner and our two rescue greyhounds, and love everything about the hills lifestyle. I can't wait to meet you in the studio." |
Ashlee AvinoSenior Teacher / Mum
|
Growing up in Perth as a dancer, Ashlee has always had a passion for movement. In 2013, after travelling for years as a Cabaret Fire Performer, she decided to embark on a new journey and became a qualified Barre instructor which lead her straight to her Pilates training. She quickly fell in love with helping others to find joy in movement, marvel at the capabilities of their own bodies, and discover how good they can feel if they simply make space in a busy schedule to come together, stretch out and hopefully have a laugh or ten!
"I just love the Pilates method and everything it encompasses. I truly believe that Movement is Medicine and as such should be a prioritized part of the flow of each day in order to live a balanced and content life. Our bodies are amazing and deserve our love and attention. Nothing is more thrilling than that after class glow that radiates from our core which has been set alight by a great Pilates session! I am passionate about helping others to discover how good their bodies can feel and how incredible they really are. When I'm not teaching, I'm still performing or spending days laughing and loving with my daughter. Beach days, gumboot bush adventures, camping with no one else in sight - I love it all! Come and meet me at the studio, I’d love to share in your story." |

Carissa AntonelliPilates Teacher |
"As someone who grew up in the hills and has no plan of ever leaving, teaching at Perth Hills Pilates is such a blessing for me!
I made the switch from the healthcare world to full time Pilates in early February 2022 and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I come from a ballet background, so sometimes you’ll see little balletic splashes in my classes here and there. My class style is positive energy full of laughs and not taking anything too seriously, as well as still having a great (and fun) workout and getting your sweat on! In my free time you’ll find me hanging with my dog Franklin - we do everything together! I’m a lover of bubble tea and all things Taylor Swift and Harry Potter! Love to get my boogie on (maybe even sometimes when teaching if the tunes are banging!) especially jamming out in my car with Franklin as my audience." |
Priya PoinenPilates Teacher |
"For me, nothing else can give the unique glow, confidence, and relaxation, that movement of the body creates."
Priya has always enjoyed being active and started attending Pilates classes when she was in high school. It was her escape and time to unwind from the intense amount of study. Already being very involved in the Pilates community, Priya made the decision to begin her Pilates instructor training in 2022 and is now fully qualified in both Reformer and Mat Pilates. Priya is also studying Speech Pathology at Curtin University (which she is loving!). "I enjoy planning classes with a nice flow and stretch! When you attend my classes, I want you to feel motivated, relaxed, and given the option to work at your own pace. I frequently provide options for personalising your Pilates experience (whether you are just starting off or advancing into more challenging exercises). I love teaching and being able to be involved with a community who loves Pilates as much as I do! Since my very first days of training, Perth Hills Pilates has been such a warm and welcoming place. I've been living in Darlington for about 18 years, and I am so grateful that I get to teach in a community that is so welcoming and makes me feel at home. This studio awes me every time I teach!" |
Liz Gordon
After finishing university, Liz originally started working in Public Relations roles in the corporate sector, but after having her son, decided not to go back to the corporate world. Instead, Liz pursued a career in fitness, which is something she has always loved - being an avid fan of the gym and group fitness classes for many years.
Liz started a Certificate III in Fitness and became a Group Fitness Instructor in 2019. After teaching group fitness for 2 years, Liz enrolled in a Matwork Pilates course at PITC and that is really where her journey into Pilates began. After completing the Matwork course and teaching Pilates for a year, Liz decided to go back to PITC and complete a full Pilates Diploma in 2023, which Liz says has been "absolutely one of the best decisions I have ever made!"
"When I'm not teaching or doing Pilates, I love spending time with family, taking my son to his hockey games and practice, and watching true crime documentaries on Netflix."
