Michelle Rann - Founder & Senior TeacherMovement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started dancing at the age of four, went on to dance at WAAPA, and have been exploring how the body moves, and how it feels, ever since. What began as a love for movement has evolved into a deep passion for helping people reconnect with their bodies, calm their minds, and find balance in an increasingly busy world.
I hold comprehensive Pilates Certifications across the full syllabus, along with Barre, and additional Prenatal/Postnatal training, and have been teaching Pilates for over a decade. I’m also a qualified Sports Nutrition coach (Cert IV) and an internationally accredited Nervous System Regulation Practitioner. Over the years, I’ve realised that true wellness isn’t just about building strength or flexibility, it’s about learning to regulate your nervous system and feel safe, centered, and at home in your body. That belief has shaped everything about our studios - From the movement, to the slower practices, and even the design of the space itself, every element was created to help you reset, breathe, and reconnect. Movement becomes a way to release emotion, shift energy, recalibrate, and return to yourself. That same philosophy flows through everything we do here. You’ll move, you’ll sweat, you’ll breathe, and hopefully, you’ll walk out feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded than when you walked in. As a mum of two young boys, I know how hard it can be to carve out time for yourself, but I also know how powerful it is when you do. This space is about supporting you in whatever season you’re in. It’s not about how movement makes you look, it’s about how it makes you FEEL. |
Chloe Swindale - Member Care ManagerGrowing up in the peaceful foothills, I learned early the value of community, hard work, and a good cup of coffee. I began my careen in Pharmacy, where I developed a love for helping people and keeping things running smoothly. After welcoming my two beautiful children, life took me in a new direction - straight into the fitness industry, where I developed a passion for supporting others on their wellness journeys.
These days, I'm your go-to girl for all things admin and member care. Coordination, communication, and keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes. That's my sweet spot. Don't be surprised if you get an email from me at 6:30am or 8:30pm - I make the most of the quiet moments! I'm always up for a good chit-chat over coffee, and if you ever need book recommendations, I'm your girl! From admin to novels and everything in between, I'm here to help with a smile. |
Donna Schofield"Sharing my Love for Pilates allows me to guide others toward improved Balance, Control and Coordination, and find a deeper connection between the Mind and Body.”
I first discovered Pilates in 2019 searching for a solution to a persistent painful problem. Needless to say, I fell in Love with the practice – not only for its physical benefits, but its ability to calm the mind and restore balance. Over time, Pilates became an integral part of my life, assisting my journey through depression, anxiety and PTSD. Pilates truly helped me “Return to Life.” Looking for a new direction in 2023, I completed my Cert III in Allied Health Assistance. From this new found knowledge in the Health/Wellness space came the inspiration and confidence to complete my Certification in Pilates Matwork and Reformer. Before diving into the world of Pilates, I worked in Jewellery Sales. Highlighting my natural ability to connect with people on an emotional level, something that I feel shines through in my teaching style. Blending elements of Classical Contrology with the creative flair of Contemporary Pilates, I love to focus on Balance, Control and Coordination. Making each session both as challenging and rewarding as you choose on any given day. Whether you’re stepping on the Reformer for the first time or deepening your practice, you can expect a supportive, uplifting and empowering experience every time. When I’m not in the studio, I’m most likely enjoying some personal practice, indulging in Hot Yoga, walking my dog or reading a book. I also love a live music gig, although you might often find me on the serving side of the bar. |
Liz GordonAfter finishing university, Liz originally started working in Public Relations roles in the corporate sector, but after having her son, decided not to go back to the corporate world. Instead, Liz pursued a career in fitness, which is something she has always loved - being an avid fan of the gym and group fitness classes for many years.
Liz started a Certificate III in Fitness and became a Group Fitness Instructor in 2019. After teaching group fitness for 2 years, Liz enrolled in a Matwork Pilates course at PITC and that is really where her journey into Pilates began. After completing the Matwork course and teaching Pilates for a year, Liz decided to go back to PITC and complete a full Pilates Diploma in 2023, which Liz says has been "absolutely one of the best decisions I have ever made!" "When I'm not teaching or doing Pilates, I love spending time with family, taking my son to his hockey games and practice, and watching true crime documentaries on Netflix." |

It helps to strengthen, realign, and restore the body through mindful, controlled movement. My goal is to help people move better, feel stronger, and live with ease - both inside and outside the studio.” – Michelle When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find Michelle taking her two fur babies to the beach or relaxing with a good book in her hammock - soaking up the simple joys of movement, nature, and a little bit of quiet time. |
Ronai AbreuI worked in PR for stockbroking & mining companies for many years and overtime it started at impact my health. After going through a major health scare, I immediately quit my job and healed the only way I knew of. Which for me at the time, was Yoga.
So I commenced Yoga Teacher Training in Byron Bay, and proceeded to spend the next couple of years studying the Iyengar Yoga method. Which I happily taught for several years. However, after my twins were born, I was experiencing constant lower back pain from weak abdominals & found I struggling in Yoga poses I once deemed ‘easy’. So I turned to Pilates to strengthen my core and aid in rehabilitation, but unexpectedly fell in love with Pilates, and was instantly hooked! Shortly after I commenced my Pilates Teacher Training with ITC, and am now studying my Pilates diploma. Pilates has become my wholehearted passion. My ‘must have’ for continuing on this journey of life. It’s given me such an unimaginable quality of life and renewed sense of self. ‘My love language is anatomy, alignment, mobilization & strength’. Quality time with family & friends, walking, coffee, tennis, snowboarding, travel & laughter are my other life devotions. |
Priya Poinen"For me, nothing else can give the unique glow, confidence, and relaxation, that movement of the body creates."
Priya has always enjoyed being active and started attending Pilates classes when she was in high school. It was her escape and time to unwind from the intense amount of study. Already being very involved in the Pilates community, Priya made the decision to begin her Pilates instructor training in 2022 and is fully qualified in both Reformer and Mat Pilates. Priya is also studying Speech Pathology at Curtin University (which she is loving!). "I enjoy planning classes with a nice flow and stretch! When you attend my classes, I want you to feel motivated, relaxed, and given the option to work at your own pace. I frequently provide options for personalising your Pilates experience (whether you are just starting off or advancing into more challenging exercises). I love teaching and being able to be involved with a community who loves Pilates as much as I do! Since my very first days of training, Perth Hills Pilates has been such a warm and welcoming place. I've been living in Darlington for about 18 years, and I am so grateful that I get to teach in a community that is so welcoming and makes me feel at home. This studio awes me every time I teach!" |
Ashlee Avino
Growing up in Perth as a dancer, Ashlee has always had a passion for movement. In 2013, after travelling for years as a Cabaret Fire Performer, she decided to embark on a new journey and became a qualified Barre instructor which lead her straight to her Pilates training. She quickly fell in love with helping others to find joy in movement, marvel at the capabilities of their own bodies, and discover how good they can feel if they simply make space in a busy schedule to come together, stretch out and hopefully have a laugh or ten!
"I just love the Pilates method and everything it encompasses. I truly believe that Movement is Medicine and as such should be a prioritized part of the flow of each day in order to live a balanced and content life. Our bodies are amazing and deserve our love and attention. Nothing is more thrilling than that after class glow that radiates from our core which has been set alight by a great Pilates session! I am passionate about helping others to discover how good their bodies can feel and how incredible they really are.
When I'm not teaching, I'm still performing or spending days laughing and loving with my daughter. Beach days, gumboot bush adventures, camping with no one else in sight - I love it all!
Come and meet me at the studio, I’d love to share in your story."
